‘Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone’ sums up the introspective and informative day 5 at #Back2Businessship in the very welcoming Hill+Knowlton Strategies London office. This post is written by delegates Priya Dsouza and Katiso Ndlela

Today, we began with Kaustav Bhattacharya of MRM UK discussing the influence of technology on marketing and communication. He gave us insights into the genius that is Artificial Intelligence (AI), the biases inherent to it and the role that a more diverse and inclusive workforce can play in changing this.

Simon Redfern and Kerri-Ann O’Neill of Ofcom gave us an overview of the very important role the communications regulating body plays and the difference it is trying to make. After a tip about not procrastinating and letting creativity flow, it turns out that there could be a few authors in the making. If we allow our head, our heart, our gut and our universe produce a symphony, we would write that best selling novel, open that clothing shop, draft that award winning policy and go for that dream job.

A big thank you to Katie Williams, Dee R., Sarah Holzman and Reena Patel from LinkedIn who gave us the most fabulous advice on how to polish our LinkedIn profiles. They introduced us to some cutting edge LinkedIn tools; we discussed green skills and the future of work. LinkedIn here we come!

Sarah Fell and Rihanna Eligon from Hill+Knowlton Strategies came back to add to their day 2 session on CV writing with an interactive module on fine tuning your interviewing technique. The questions that flew hard and fast were a testament to how much we enjoyed and gained from this session.

The amazing and inspiring Liz Nottingham FIPA 🏡 rounded off the day with an eye opening session on playing big, managing your imposter syndrome and listening to your inner mentor.

When you think that you have soaked in all the inspiration there is, then day 5 hits you and you realise how much power there is in unpacking and rebuilding your personal brand. Couple this with understanding the importance of healthy communication and the future of AI, the possibilities of invigorating our careers seems more attainable than we previously believed.
