We are delighted to welcome Koyin Akinsiku – Senior Account Executive at MSL Group as our newest Ambassador to NoTurningBack 2020.

A BSc Psychology graduate, Koyin has always had a keen interest in – and flair for all things marketing. While at the University of Surrey, she wrote her dissertation on ‘BAME representation…’ A proactive and independent thinker from a very young age, Koyin has been a voice for alternative points of view,  participating in school council, Youth Parliament, as a University rep and eventually a Student’s Union Vice President and board member. While at University she showcased her creative skills in a motivational video targeting final year students: ‘You Can Do it Surrey ‘, which she scripted, produced and directed.

Noticing the lack of diversity, particularly the absence of role models within the PR industry has fuelled her passion for encouraging people from ethnic minorities and lower socio economic communities to break into the sector and share their brilliance.

In this video she tells us about her exciting career to date, why she wishes she had/ could have benefitted from a ‘Big Sister’ to mentor her when she started out, and what needs to be done to level the playing field in marketing, media or PR.
