Not so, down at Oracle’s UK HQ where our all-female returners adjourned for the second half of the inspiring Back2Businessship 2019 programme today. A sense of camaraderie and a close spirit of leaning in to help each other felt very apparent on Day Four as the confidence levels of our delegates continued to visibly grow.

The morning went quickly and was productive with a punchy session on nailing the task of job search led by F1 recruitment CEO, Amanda Fone. Joining the debate in the afternoon was programme partner Golin, with Executive Director, Tom Glover, and PR millennial, Sarah Heinz, presenting on the changing media landscape and new opportunities for good story telling within the world of PR.

With blurring lines between earned and paid content, fake news filling a never ending torrent of social media channels and our digital influencers enduring increasing scrutiny under the microscope, the traditional newsroom of old has evolved into one that now leverages data, paid for subscriptions, AI and new technology, and where its journalists are having to push their stories out harder and harder as they become their own brands.

Plenty to absorb.
