The School of Communication Arts: SCA was founded in 2009 with a commitment
to seek out the best creative talent and nurture them to become the next generation of advertising
superstars. As a portfolio school, SCA is supported by over 100 of the top advertising agencies
who donate money to fund scholarships and provide mentoring for students.
In April and October 2021, SCA in partnership with Stride, will run a 12-month online course for 20 scholarship recipients. SCA support students from ALL backgrounds and are proud of their commitment to diversity and inclusion within the communications industry. Students will be taught by faculty members and a network of over industry mentors in a welcoming environment. To make the programme inclusive for all, everyone will receive free laptops to complete related coursework. All course fees will be covered by SCAs partner Stride.
Aspiring creative superstars will attend online classes and lectures daily and be provided with practical coursework to complete in groups or individually. Much like in a real agency, Students will receive campaign briefs and have to work precisely to the client’s requirements. Students will have to prepare presentations to commercial standards proving their understanding of the client’s needs. After all the hard work is done, Students leave with the opportunity to showcase their work at a Portfolio Day event where hundreds of industry professionals scout out fresh talent, usually leading to a highly sought after placement or job.
This programme is perfect for people who have always dreamt of working in the fast-paced world of marketing / advertising. You can apply for this programme as long as you’re between 18 and 24 and live in Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark or Wandsworth and need financial assistance in covering the course fees (£8k GBP).
