Marketing Director – Salary £150k

B2C experience is a must across Digital, Brand and Commercial Marketing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop key ways of working within and across teams, setting a clear standard in how marketing activity is managed and delivered across the business.
  • Create and drive the annual marketing calendar, using it as the basis from which to build out all brand and marketing campaigns
  • Define the overarching brand campaigns for each year, integrating these into the underlying marketing activity to drive consistency and realise the benefits of amplification
  • Launch and embed the new brand positioning across the organisation
  • Align marketing plans with press and communications teams, to ensure activity is fully leveraged across media, and comms opportunities are fully commercialised where it makes sense
  • Define, drive and evaluate a performance marketing plan covering core digital marketing channels (search, social, display and affiliates) that sits across the business and ensures we are maximising channel opportunities and driving growth through online marketing
  • Deliver integrated 360 degree marketing campaigns with a strong emphasis across digital channels and especially social media
  • Leverage existing tools and data to measure and manage campaign effectiveness/ROI, and use data to optimise marketing efforts
  • Work closely with Technology to identify and fill gaps across the existing marketing technology stack to further increase our knowledge and understanding of our customers and fans
  • Manage the marketing and digital budgets, working closely with commercial to set them, and constantly seeking opportunities to adjust, negotiate and optimise ROI and efficiency
  • Continuously look for ways to innovate and improve – across data, tools, activity, process, performance
  • Manage the performance and development of the marketing and digital team, setting ambitious standards, goals and targets for them to deliver to.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience across marketing, digital, commercial functions
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a strategic leadership role within marketing
  • Track record of successfully developing and implementing 360 degree marketing strategies
  • Proven ability of delivering marketing plans that have delivered against commercial KPIs
  • Demonstrable understanding and a proven track record of building and leading a successful digital marketing function
  • Strong experience across the full marketing landscape, from traditional and out-of-home, digital channels, technology and analytics
  • Budget management
  • Strong people management ability, recruiting, leading and developing a high performing team
  • Working within the sports industry is a nice to have, but not required

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • The ability to dive into the detail to gain intelligence, effectively interpret insights and research, and use this to drive growth
  • Highly analytical with strong Excel and numerical skills, a strong data-centric mind, with the ability to use data to analyse issues, develop solutions and influence key decisions
  • Results oriented, and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines – getting involved in the detail if needed
  • Excellent business judgement, commercially minded, making decisions based on tangible benefits whilst discerning the balance of risk with reward
  • Well-organised logical and efficient; process-driven with strong project management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to positively engage and influence down, across and upwards, both within and external to the business
  • A proactive self-starter with an ambitious spirit, able to work on multiple workstreams effectively and at pace, independently or collaboratively as required
