Caroline Cookson - Partner
Caroline graduated in 1996 with a BA (Hons) in Economic & Social History and has 14 years recruitment experience, 12 dedicated to media and marketing communications. Her career started with Manpower Plc before joining a specialist media and communications division of a leading London based company – over 7 years she progressed into a Divisional Leader role. Caroline became an f1 Partner in August 2005 and handles graduate to executive level assignments; working with a variety of clients and sectors – she particularly enjoys working on briefs within sports marketing/sponsorship, (experiential) events and brand licensing/communications.

Katie Hughes - Partner
Katie read Geography at Bristol University graduating in 1999 and has been working in recruitment ever since. She has focused on the marketing, communications and media sectors, working with recent graduates to directors. Since joining the f1 partnership in 2005 she has built relationships with a wide range clients from blue chip brands to start-up businesses and consultancies and is currently spearheading f1's growth into the Southern Counties. She particularly enjoys working with sports marketing consultancies and has helped many graduates get their careers off to a flying start. Katie has found time to study part-time for a post graduate diploma in Careers Guidance.

Rachel Steele - Partner
Rachel graduated from Brighton University with an arts degree in 2000. Her initial career in sales of fine art initiated her interest in consultative customer service, and she moved into the people oriented world of recruitment in 2004. She started her own desk with an independent agency working in the Midlands technical and manufacturing industry, providing the challenge of a declining sector with many skills shortages. Finding the right people to meet client’s needs often required hard work and a creative approach to sourcing candidates. In 2007 she moved to a larger independent company, and was promoted to Senior Consultant after three months. She mentored a team and developed successful relationships with clients at major blue chip companies, whilst working on a full range of vacancies from graduates to headhunting assignments for senior management vacancies. Celia Clark - Partner
Celia joined the f1 team in October 2010. She graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Music and has been working in marketing, PR and communications ever since. Prior to joining the f1 partnership, she has worked for a leading London consumer PR consultancy for nearly 10 years. As a Senior Account Director, Celia oversaw campaigns for a varied portfolio of clients and played a key role in harnessing new business for the consultancy, as well as interviewing potential employees and developing an internal training programme. She also coordinated the agency’s successful applications for the Investors in People accreditation, and the PRCA Consultancy Management Standard. Over four years spent in marketing earlier in Celia’s career – two of them as Marketing Manager for Laurent-Perrier Champagne – helped cultivate invaluable experience and knowledge of the industry.

Catherine de la Poer - Partner
Catherine joined f1 in September 2010. She has worked for two successful media start-ups since graduating from Durham University in 1992. Her particular expertise includes international expansion, business development and hiring and managing commercial teams both in the UK and the US. Her career began as Advertising Manager for trade press publisher MLP where she developed the commercial strategy and built sales teams for the multi-award winning Human Resources Magazine, now owned by Haymarket. She went onto become Associate Publisher at MLP where she was responsible for launching Global HR Magazine. In 1999, she was instrumental in developing the ‘Global HR Leaders Agenda’, a thought leadership piece which profiled 50 leading global HR Directors with in-depth analysis of managing human capital in an emerging world economy.
Catherine joined Vibrant Media in 2001 as part of a core team of six senior executives selected to launch the business following initial VC funding. Her nearly eight year tenure with Vibrant in both Europe and the US saw the company grow to a multi-million dollar business with a global team of over 200 staff in five locations. Responsible for owning and negotiating publisher distribution deals at a senior level, her clients included leading online brands such as; AOL, IDG, Telegraph, Reuters, Channel 5 and AND. In 2007, Catherine was well placed to join Vibrant’s recruitment panel, identifying and recommending senior talent to the European business. This role extended to mentoring new hires. She brings with her a wealth of commercial, business development and management experience and an in-depth, hard won knowledge of the digital market place.

Kate Thurlwell - Partner
Kate Thurlwell joined f1 recruitment llp in October 2010 and has come from the communications agency world rather than a traditional recruitment background. After studying English Literature & Theatre Studies in London and New York , Kate worked in a number of London marketing agencies, starting out firstly in Business Development then taking on a dual role at Virgin D3 – specialising in delivering integrated BTL campaigns to the under 35’s. Her previous senior role was with The Lounge Group where she headed up and won numerous industry awards for: Unilever Lynx, Santander, EA Sports & Games, Pernod Ricard, SAB Miller & Samsung Mobile. Kate focuses on roles at all levels within events/experiential/sports and marketing

Katrina brings over 15 years Marketing and Communications experience gained from working across a diverse list of global brands, most latterly Chelsea Football Club, where in her position as Head of Brand she was responsible for all elements of the marketing and brand strategy for the football club, working to meet commercial objectives, grow the fan base and the brand world-wide. Having managed large teams for most of her career she has much experience recruiting and developing people, building effective teams and helping people meet and exceed their potential. A combination of these skills together with her extensive industry knowledge puts her in a perfect position to advise and guide both clients and candidates.
